The "GN" Sisters
They started out as strangers but became sisters. Without their special friendships, many of them wouldn't have survived.

gnsisters.jpgWe call ourselves the GN Sisters. Whether it’s a girl’s night in or a girls night out, we make time for our “sisters.” Most of us moved to Memphis for work. Making friends in a new city is always tough at first. Somehow we found one another through work, local organizations and mutual friends. In this group no one cares what you do for a living, where you live or who you know.

Our diverse sisterhood has grown to nearly 30 professional young women. Some of us are single, others are married, a few are divorced. Two are expectant moms. Some have even moved onto other cities. We find time to get together for a dinner, a movie, a community project, a house party, dancing–anything to get the group together. We love to throw theme parties and check out local attractions.

We celebrate the special moments. Some are big like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, new homes or promotions. Others are just as important like finishing a marathon, losing weight or dumping a loser boyfriend.

We started as strangers, but now we are sisters. No one ever has to be alone. If it weren’t for this sisterhood, many of us wouldn’t have the special friendships we have today. Many of us wouldn’t have survived.

You’re going to hear a lot more about “Girls Night.” Every woman should have one. It’s no longer just about getting dressed up and hitting the clubs. Women are seeing how important it is to make time for their friends.

There’s something incredibly powerful about the bond you have with your girlfriends, your sisters. Your girlfriends are always there for you - make time for them.
