Tran Bui is perfecting her balancing act.

A former television news reporter and anchor, most recently for ABC24/UPN30, Tran Bui now blends full-time motherhood (Jackson’s 2; baby Ava’s due in December) with freelancing as a field producer, writer and media coordinator.

3 things you don’t know about me:

• I was born in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) and grew up poor, so I can be incredibly frugal and hate to waste anything.
  
• I’m extremely vain about being photographed. I can go out in public with no make-up, glasses and a shirt with food stains on it, but I don’t like to have my picture taken unless I’m somewhat dolled up. It must be all those years in TV news.
  
• Spanx changed my life.
