|
Thomas Manns is doing everything he can to raise money for the diabetes since his 10 year old daughter was diagnosed at 17 months.
Sarah Manns of Cordova was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of 17 months. She's now 10 years old and still going to St. Jude Children's Hospital to test for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Her father Memphis Police officer Thomas Manns and his family are doing everything they can to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. On Saturday October 7th they took part in the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure at Shelby Farms for the 9th year in a row. Their team was called "Sarah's Bad Boys." This year they won the t-shirt design contest for the family teams. The shirt displays a portrait of Thomas in his police uniform holding his daughter Sarah. Thomas is also raising money by selling rings and necklaces he makes from quartz crystals and quartz clusters the family found in Mount Ida, Arkansas.
